Surakarta, Indonesia (September 29, 2026) – ICSAE-13 UNDIP brought together Diponegoro University (UNDIP) and Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) to promote sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. Through its Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences and World Class University (WCU) program, UNDIP collaborated with the UNS Center for Biotechnology and Biodiversity Research and Development (P3BB).
The collaboration delivered the 13th International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment (ICSAE-13). The international conference took place in Surakarta, Indonesia, on September 24–25, 2026. It provided a platform for researchers and academics to exchange knowledge and discuss solutions for sustainable agriculture and environmental challenges.
ICSAE-13 UNDIP and UNS Host a Hybrid International Conference
The organizers designed ICSAE-13 as a hybrid event. The program included a General Assembly and parallel presentation sessions. Participants could attend in person or join online.
On September 24, the onsite activities took place at UNS Tower in Surakarta. The program included the General Assembly and thematic presentations. Meanwhile, online parallel sessions were held on September 25 through Zoom Meeting.
The conference attracted 179 participants. Through this hybrid format, the organizers expanded access to international academic discussions. Furthermore, the format enabled researchers to exchange ideas across geographical boundaries.
University Leaders Emphasize International Collaboration
UNS Rector Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., welcomed the collaboration between the two universities. He expressed his appreciation for their joint efforts in organizing ICSAE-13.
He highlighted the role of higher education institutions in addressing global challenges. In particular, he emphasized the need for research and innovation in sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
Similarly, UNDIP Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences Dean Prof. Sugiharto, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., stressed the importance of international academic exchange.
He welcomed the faculty’s contribution to the conference. Moreover, he expressed hope that cross-border knowledge sharing would generate practical ideas and appropriate technologies. These innovations could help strengthen food security while supporting sustainable agricultural development.
Conference Program Promotes Knowledge Exchange
The first day at UNS Tower featured several activities. The program began with the opening ceremony and continued with the keynote session. Participants also attended thematic parallel presentations and the closing session.
In addition, the organizers livestreamed invited speakers’ presentations from the General Assembly. The broadcast was available through the official ICSAE Network YouTube channel.
This initiative helped extend the conference’s reach beyond onsite participants. Consequently, a wider audience could access the speakers’ insights and research discussions.
Advancing Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Protection
ICSAE-13 UNDIP reflects the importance of collaboration between universities in advancing sustainable development. By bringing researchers and academics together, the conference encouraged the exchange of scientific knowledge and practical solutions.
Furthermore, the event highlighted the potential of appropriate technologies to support agricultural productivity and environmental conservation. These efforts are particularly relevant to food security and the responsible use of natural resources.
Through its collaboration with UNS and P3BB, UNDIP aims to strengthen academic partnerships and encourage further research. In the long term, such initiatives can help promote agricultural innovation, improve community welfare, and protect the environment for future generations.
